About The Volvo EX60

The EX60 is Volvo’s new entry for the best-selling EV segment in the world. That means it faces fierce competition, but the EX60 is more than up to the task. The advanced technology in the EX60 makes it the clear leader, even when compared to other recently debuted models. This technology is far-ranging, too, from the advanced electric drivetrain that provides up to 322 miles of range to the cutting-edge infotainment system and even more technologically advanced seatbelts. For all that impressive technology, the EX60 is also incredibly practical, with lots of storage cubbies throughout the cabin, and a ton of rear cargo space. It’s comfortable, with a distinctly Scandinavian design that prioritizes high-quality materials and ease of use. Volvo even went above and beyond for the stereo, which will impress even dedicated audiophiles.

What the Critics Say

“By its name alone, you can draw the reasonable (and correct) conclusion that the Volvo EX60 is the electric kissin’ cousin to the company’s bestselling XC60, just as the EX90 fills that role alongside the XC90. However, there’s more than meets the eye here. The EX60 is Volvo’s most radical and forward-thinking attempt at an electric vehicle yet.” – Car & Driver

“Early impressions from our first ride in the EX60 are promising. The compact electric SUV feels quick even in midlevel form, with strong acceleration, a quiet cabin, and a comfortable ride that still allows some driver customization through adjustable steering, suspension, and regenerative braking settings. The interior looks airy and upscale without going overly minimalist.” – MotorTrend

Volvo EX60 Features

Volvo EX60

Impressive Electric Performance

There are three different drivetrains available for the EX60. The standard drivetrain is the P6, which is rear-wheel drive and produces an impressive 369 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. If you want all-wheel drive, the P10 drivetrain gives it to you, along with 503 horsepower and 524 lb-ft of torque. That gives the EX60 a 0-60 time of just 4.4 seconds, astonishingly quick for a midsize SUV. It also allows for the 4,500-pound maximum towing capacity of the EX60. Charging is also impressively quick, thanks to the 800-volt battery architecture, which allows for an industry-leading 370kW charging rate, which can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 16 minutes on a DC fast charger, half the time of some of its competitors. The battery pack in the EX60 is incorporated into the structure of the vehicle itself, which saves weight, improves interior space, and improves handling by lowering the center of gravity.

Volvo EX60 Interior

Luxury Design

Volvo does a good job of evolving the design of its vehicles while still retaining a signature Volvo look. So the EX60 isn’t just the cutting edge of technology, it’s also a new chapter in the book of Volvo’s Scandinavian design philosophy. This philosophy prioritizes simplicity and clean lines, while simultaneously using high-quality materials so that simplicity still comes with a premium feel. The spacious interior comes in a choice of four colors. Cardamom, Charcoal, and Dawn come with a choice of Nordico, ventilated Nordico, or ventilated nappa leather and come with weathered grey ash wood trim. The Rye interior comes with a wool blend for the upholstery, and the trim is ash wood fused with rubus that gives it a dark red color. The EX60 also comes with a horizontal infotainment touchscreen, the first Volvo to do so in a decade. The 15-inch OLED screen is also the biggest ever fitted to a Volvo vehicle.

Volvo EX60 Charging

Advanced Technology

As impressive as the drivetrain is, it’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the incredible technology in the EX60. The EX60 comes with an all-new central computing system known as HuginCore, which is powerful enough to perform up to 250 trillion operations per second. This makes existing technologies even more powerful, but it also allows for new technologies, including Volvo’s latest safety invention, the multi-adaptive seat belt. The belt adjusts tension continuously before, during, and briefly after a crash in order to maximize protection while minimizing any risk of injury from the belt itself. Volvo was one of the first manufacturers to embrace Google built-in infotainment operating systems, and for the EX60, it also includes Google Gemini AI assistant. That system also powers your choice of two incredibly advanced stereo systems. The standard system is made by Bose, and it features 21 speakers and a 1,200-watt output. That’s more impressive than most extra-cost premium stereos offered in competing vehicles, but Volvo didn’t stop there. There is also a 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system with Dolby Atmos and a 1,820-watt output.
