What’s New for 2025
The big news for 2025 is the introduction of the Black Edition appearance package, which includes black exterior trim and wheels, and is available with either Onyx Black or Crystal White paint. It is available only on the Ultra trim, which is the new name for what used to be the Ultimate trim, another of the changes for 2025. Other changes include power folding headrests making the list of standard equipment, and the dropping of the “Recharge” branding for the T8 plug-in hybrid drivetrain.

Standard power comes from a B5 mild hybrid turbocharged engine with 247 horsepower and front-wheel drive. Available all-wheel drive provides enhanced control and grip in all types of weather conditions. The new B5 mild hybrid powertrains recover energy produced when braking and store it in a 48V battery. When this energy is used to assist the engine, fuel consumption and tailpipe emissions are both reduced.
For the ultimate in performance, choose the T8 plug-in hybrid drivetrain which delivers a combined system output of 455 horsepower. You’ll have complete control of the standard 8-speed Geartronic automatic transmission with optional steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Selectable drive modes give you the ability to customize the performance, versatility, and efficiency of the Volvo S60.
